Be Honest
Be honest, be honest, BE HONEST!
The more you practice personal honesty is the less likely you are (and/or become) to create and rely on barriers in your mind that ultimately serve as obstructions to observation, comprehension, understanding and adaptative response.
The more honest you become honest is the less you have to rely on idealism, and the more you can live authentically, and observe and particpate in the actual reality.
Cognitive dissonance, cognitive biases, blame-rhetoric, victimhood narratives, emotional and psychological triggers and reactionary thinking, prejudices, clinging to traumatizations, cowardice, addictions and the wide variety of escapism that leads to addiction, vanity/conceit, and every other form of mental distortion…
All of this shit… ALL OF THIS SHIT stems from one thing and one thing alone, and that is personal dishonesty.
It’s the difference between: “I feel uncertain and insecure and don’t really know what to do about how I feel, or how to figure out why I feel this way so I can make these feelings go away…” and: “It’s your fault! You’re making me angry because you’re evil and everything you do is wrong! You need to be punished, or I need to see you or something suffer so that I can feel better about myself!”
It’s the difference between: “Your talent makes me question myself and the value of mine…” and: “You’re arrogant and delusional! You think you know everything and that you’re the best! I’m gonna show you you’re not as great as you think you are! I’m gonna humble you and encourage others to do the same!”
It’s the difference between: “I want and need to feel connected to things that enhance and edify my sense of value and worth.” and: “We’re the best and we deserve the best things! And everyone who isn’t part of my group(s) is just bitter, angry and jealous! We deserve all the rewards and they deserve to suffer and be punished!”
Cognitive dissonance, cognitive biases, blame-rhetoric, victimhood narratives, emotional and psychological triggers and reactionary thinking, prejudices, clinging to traumatization, cowardice, addictions and the wide variety of escapism that leads to addiction, vanity, and every other form of mental distortion… All of these things either are, or are resultant from barriers people erect in their minds in efforts or hopes to preserve IDEALISM ahead of and over REALITY.
Reality and idealism (perceptive valuation) are mutually exclusive things…
Dishonesty takes you further into idealism. Truth and honesty bring you closer and closer to reality.
