Principle of the Day (22)
The principle of the day is a very simple one…
In fact, we’ll frame it as a question (turned-series of questions)…
Are you trying to understand, or trying to defend and preserve your internal narrative?
Are you trying to make sense and/or align yourself with whatever makes the most sense, or are you trying to be and prove to other that you’re “right”?
Are you observing and adjusting to reality in real time, or approaching and interacting with reality (and others) through a lens of idealism?
Because, see…
If you’re legitimately trying to understand people and things, then it means you’re being honest.
If you’re trying to defend and preserve an internal narrative, then you are being dishonest.
That means if you are trying to defend any held belief or ideology, you are by default being dishonest.
It is mechanically impossible for belief and truth to occupy the same space.
